Malaysiana Loose Fabric - STARBURST

MYR 80.00

The Starburst is inspired by tiny five petal/star flowers Marini found during her walk around the gardens close to the forest. It grows in bunches and nestles between leaves and branches looking like tiny explosions. It seemed like a great mix of different elements that worked together in unity. Marini found them to be cheerful and beautiful in their simplicity. She then wanted to create a Malaysian rainforest print without the usual greens and browns, opting instead to choose a fresher palette to express a new kind of feeling of youth and modernity. Malaysia is a mix of cultures and people of stars bursting with vibrance.

Additionally the flower or ‘bunga’ in Malay is a design element used in traditional Malay textiles crafts. You would see simplified versions of it in traditional textile design. The five-petalled/star flower (‘bunga pecah lima’) is a popular one which Marinii pays homage to here.

Price per meter is RM 80.00

1 meter is counted as 1 unit.
